Overview / Event description
This workshop introduces Phenomenon-Based Learning (PhBL), a teaching model that engages students in multidisciplinary, real-world problem-solving by exploring topics holistically rather than through isolated subjects. Participants will learn practical strategies and case studies to implement PhBL in their own educational contexts, fostering active learning and critical thinking
Objectives
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the core principles and benefits of Phenomenon-Based Learning, including its multidisciplinary approach and real-world application
Attendees will learn practical strategies and techniques for integrating PhBL into their own teaching practices, including how to select and utilise phenomena to drive student inquiry and engagement
The workshop will equip educators with tools to enhance students' critical thinking and problem-solving abilities by engaging them in complex, real-world problems that require holistic and interdisciplinary solutions
