- Research demonstrates the challenges and positive impact of field trips on student engagement in higher education. However, it raises some questions about their academic impact and their organisation including, how inclusive are these field trips? and what options are available if a student cannot attend?
- Offering different modes of field tips such as walking or online tours permits reaching a wider audience and empowers students to engage on their own.
Learning outcomes
- In this short presentation, Gustavo will demonstrate how some principles of UDL (Universal Design for Learning) were embedded in a field trip to improve student engagement in a second-year undergraduate module at the Westminster Business School.
