This free National Event is seeking to bring together a community of interested parties to share practice and address the strategic challenges facing civic education and service-learning in UK Higher Education.
Co-convened by the University of Westminster, the National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement and the Institute for Experiential and Skills-Based Education; the event will include participatory and interactive sessions with plenty of opportunities for attendees to network and build connections around this diverse and exciting work area.
The purpose of the event will be to re-imagine ways to enhance civic experiential learning in UK Higher Education. We will also launch two exciting initiatives: the Civic and Community Strand led by the Institute for Experiential and Skills-Based Education, and a new report entitled Taking Stock of Engaged Learning: How Universities Support Community-based and Service-learning.
Lunch is provided and there is no charge for attendance.
The event is open to all interested parties; however, we are specifically targeting:
PVCs and Senior Leaders in HE.
Public Engagement Professionals and engaged academics.
Experiential/WBL learning professionals and academics.
Funders, policymakers, and key influencers.
Strategic community partners to universities.
